2009 Miss Washington Outstanding Teen Contestants

I am so happy that I get to participate with all of these lovely girls at the Miss Washington Outstanding Teen Pageant. I was able to meet all of them at the Spring Forum and I can't wait to dance and hang out with them all again next weekend at the actual pageant. Good luck to us all.

Your Invited!

Please bring your family and friends to our sendoff party for Anita (Miss Yakima County) and myself (Miss Yakima County Outstanding Teen). We are going to the Miss Washington and Miss Washington's Outstanding Teen pageant held in Burien Washington over July 8th-11th. My mom, dad, cousin Shilo and my pageant director Carol Milliron, will be throwing Anita and I, a send off party, at the Selah Civic Center on June 30th, at 7:00pm. Anita and I will be showing off all of the outfits that we will be wearing on July 8-11. I will also have the opportunity to speak a little bit about my platform, Parental Involvement in a Child's Education.
Anita and I hope you can join us!

DC Bound Trip June 13-21, 2009

What a week! I just recently came back to my family and friends after spending a week in Washington DC and New York. Compared to New York City, Yakima looks extremely small. I am very happy to be back in my home town. Washington DC was incredible, but honestly New York was a little to much for me to handle in two days.

My favorite band the Jonas Brothers were in New York. I was able to see the back of Nick's head, it was so amazing. The Jonas brothers preformed for the Today show, and they were incredible from what I could hear, because there were a lot of screaming girls.

Below is a link to watch The Today's Show, that we went to.

Spring Forum May 2009

This has been such a wonderful last two months with the Miss Washington Spring forum to the many events around the valley. A few of the events that I had the privilege to participate in have been so much fun and have been a wonderful opportunity for me to speak with the members of the Yakima county:-)

Spring forum was in Renton , Washington and it was very informative and fun. All of the information from previous Miss Washington's and Miss Washington's Outstanding Teen's was very helpful. I was given the opportunity to meet my adorable little pine cone princess Emalee, she was great.

Cheyenne (Miss Tri-Cities Outstanding Teen) I had so much fun hanging out with you and all of the girls up at forum. Tori (Miss Washington's Outstanding Teen) you are amazing. Your were so helpful and extremely fun to be around:-) Thanks for all your help.

Im an Aunt!

May 23, 2009

My big sister and her husband had a baby boy. They named him Lawrence Ray Burmaster. They gave him, his first name after his great great grandfather on his dad's side, and his middle name after my dad's middle name. My nephew could'nt be any cuter. I am so glad to be an aunt.

Selah Community Days (May 14th-17th)

May 14
Started out with the Lions Health Screening Unit from 10am-8pm. Then Selah Covenant Church (my church) puts on the Hobo Feed, which serves stew and hot dogs from 4:30pm-8pm at the Selah Civic Center. The Carnival opened today.

May 15
Started out with the Carnival opening at 4pm. The Potato Extravaganza was hosted by the Chamber of Commerce from 5-8pm. There was a Cruz Night and Poker Run that ran from 7-10pm. Free Entertainment at the Wixon Park Stage from 7-11pm. Not to mention the wonderful fair food.

May 16
This was the most exciting day, it started off at 6am with the Pancake Breakfast at the Civic Center which was hosted by Selah Kiwanas. The Grand Parade started at 10am, and went down 1st Street. Before I had the opportunity to ride with Anita in the parade I was able to play my trombone in the Selah Junior High band (we rocked). Anita and I won 1st Place for royalty.

Last years Miss Selah royalty had a Luncheon at the Selah Civic Center for all Royalty who where involved in the Parade. Last years Royalty for Selah Community Days were, Hannah Younie (Miss Selah 2008-2009), Erica Poole (Miss Selah 1st Princess 2008-2009), and Karen Escalante (Miss Selah 2nd Princess 2008-2009). I was also able to meet this years royalty for Selah Community Days. There names are Britney Sterling (Miss Selah 2009-2010), Bethannnie Ratliff (Miss Selah 1st Princess 2009-2010), Shelby Lee (Miss Selah 2nd Princess 2009-2010). All day there was free entertainment at Wixon Park stage from dance performances to a Gong Show (singing competition). At 9:30pm, there was a Fireworks show and it was beautiful.

May 17
The day opened at 11:30am with free entertainment at Wixon Park. And there was a 50-50 Raffle giveaway that Selah Lions Club had. The winner was Milt Brown who runs all the entertainment and firework shows yearly for Selah. The 50-50 Raffle helped Selah Kiwanas and Selah Lions Club collect money for the new entrance sign, the carnival was open all day as well (once again the food was amazing).
